Swim Academy

The Department of Education requires that: “By the end of Key Stage 2 (age 11), pupils should be taught to swim unaided for a distance of at least 25 meters, using recognised strokes, on their front and back, and demonstrate an understanding of water safety”.

The Priory Academy LSST offers the opportunity to improve or learn swimming skills in a small and friendly group environment.  The Priory Swim Academy runs two nights a week every module.  These are hour-long sessions of free instruction, with our qualified staff offering tailored lessons to those who need a helping hand to meet the key stage requirements for aquatics.   Our aim is to encourage confidence as well as ability in the water, focusing primarily on the ASA FUNdamentals* of swimming and progressing to the key stage requirements.

To apply for a place on our Swim Academy programme, see Mrs E French or email: efrench@prioryacademies.co.uk.

(*ASA FUNdamentals are safety, balance, rotation, resistance, submerging and exploring methods of propulsion).
