Year 9 continue to dominate the league!

Y9 Netball Success – Match Report written by Millie Meyrav-Lawless

On Wednesday 1st October, the year 9 netball team had their 2nd match of the season against North Kesteven.

The girls started the game with confidence, winning the first centre pass and pushing the opposing players, getting into space and scoring the first few goals. At the end of the 1st quarter, it was 4-0 to Priory. Throughout the 2nd quarter, the girls were eager to keep our lead in the match going.

The girls worked hard, especially defense, to prevent NK from scoring through the 2nd quarter. There were some great interceptions from Niamh Doherty, Fiona Lawson, Lucy Brewer and Katherine Davenport consistently throughout the game.

In the 3rd quarter, we managed to let 2 NK goals slip in, but with strong passing in centre court from Emily O'Boyle and Millie Meyrav-Lawless, we kept our lead going, allowing Kate Andrews and Hollie Sendall to slip the goals in easily.

The last quarter pushed both teams to the limits, but with more excellent shooting attempts from Priory, we managed to successfully maintain a lead throughout the game.

Final score: 22-5

Players player:  Emily O’Boyle
