Year 8 steel victory over Branston

On Thursday 20th March the Year 8 netball team played Branston is a league fixture. The girls had to play with only 7, due to illness, injuries and parents evening. Grace Wilson made a debut at shooter (a position she has never played before)and played well throughout the game, even scoring 2 goals. With some excellent hard work from Kate Andrews at GA, Emily and Millie managed to bring the ball into the attacking circle with ease.  At half time the girls were drawing 8-8. The wind was not on our side and with some contact in the circle Branston managed to keep on scoring in the third quarter. We were 13 – 10 down in the 3rd quarter and with 8 minutes to go this seemed impossible.

However the girls regrouped and went on with confidence. With some lovely quick, short passes from our defence, Lucy, Elsie and Chloe the ball safely made its way out of our defending half. Our shooters just kept scoring. With some great motivation form Chloe Freeman screaming to the girls to keep going!!! The girls managed to pull it back, a well deserved come back!!

At the end of the match the result came to…….16-13 to The Priory Academy LSST.
