Priory Press takes part in National Storytelling Week

Our partnership with the Young Journalist Academy has always been a fruitful one, but the Priory Press team particularly enjoyed taking part in a radio workshop last week. Designed and led by members of the Young Journalist Academy, these new radio workshops provide students with the experience of using professional radio equipment in addition to practising interviewing skills.

The focus of the team's first workshop was to create a radio show in honour of National Storytelling Week. Students interviewed each other and members of staff about the importance of telling stories and their own memories of childhood stories. Lily, one of the team's senior editors, said, "I really enjoyed myself. It was great being able to use the proper equipment." Another team member said, "It was good to explore other areas of journalism on top of the writing and film-making we do already."
