Mr B wins top honour at county Sports Awards

Mr Brazinskas, one of The Priory's longest serving teachers, has been named Sports Educator of the Year at the 2014 Lincolnshire Sports Awards.

Mr B's nomination read: "He has been a PE teacher at The Priory LSST since 1993 and is a member of staff universally liked by pupils, colleagues and parents. He is a motivational and enthusiastic teacher. He turns his hand enthusiastically to any sport and on many occasions he sacrifices his own weekend hockey games to provide support to pupils and their extra-curricular activities."

He received his award at a glittering ceremony at the Lincolnshire Showground, hosted by Sky Sports presenter Ed Chamberlin with guest of honour Neil Back, Leicester Tigers' and England's World Cup winning rugby star.

"I did say in an interview after my award, 'It hasn't really sunk in yet', and that's still true," said Mr B. "What a fantastic award to get.''

"I first found out about the nomination at the Year 7 Freshers' Fair when Mrs Gilman-Abel (Katy's mum) asked me when my post arrives at home!  When I told her and asked why, she said that a letter would drop through the letterbox saying that I'd been nominated for Sports Educator of the Year. I was absolutely flabbergasted, and very honoured."
