STEM students rise to the challenge

Year 8 and 9 students gave excellent accounts of themselves at the Lincolnshire STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) Challenge Day at the University of Lincoln.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and the students were impeccably behaved, remaining respectful, polite and courteous at all times.

The day consisted of four challenges with teams of four students competing in each (teams were made up of two pairs of students from different schools). The challenges were judged on teamwork, planning and overall result.

Throughout the day, our students were very competitive, frequently appearing in the top three for each of the challenges, often coming first.

As I walked about the challenges, all students were engaged and working well as a team with other students. Despite our strong performance in the challenges, we only had one team finish first overall for one of the challenges with Chloe Marschner picking up a trophy for her work as part of that team (which was a person down!)
