Zoe in the running for national poetry award

Zoe Buckton, Year 12 Creative Writing student, has had a poem long-listed for the prestigious Christopher Tower Poetry Competition.

The aim of the national competition is to encourage the writing and reading of poetry and is headed by Peter McDonald, poet and lecturer at Oxford University.

The theme of the competition this year was ‘news’ and Zoe’s work has been selected for publication on the Tower Poetry website

Many congratulations to Zoe.

Zoe and the other 13 Creative Writing students will be reading their work at the Bookstop Café on May 9th at 4pm as part of the Lincoln Inspired regional festival. They will be launching the Priory Academy LSST Arts anthology, which celebrates student work across the art forms.

For more information on this event, please view the Literary Festival brochure (in the cultural section of this website) or the Lincoln Inspired Festival brochure.
