Poet's praise for Creative Writing students

University of Lincoln lecturer and poet Michael Blackburn has heaped praise on Sixth Formers studying for their A-Level in Creative Writing at The Priory Academy LSST.

During a special visit organised by Mrs Oliver, Michael (right) discussed aspects of his own work before setting students a creative task of their own - the results of which left him hugely impressed.

In a separate area, the Creative Writing students have just received news of their first publishing success.

Mrs Oliver submitted a sample of writing from all students to NAWE magazine (National Association for Writers in Education).

The editor has now emailed to accept all their work for publication a little later in the academic year. He has also asked Mrs Oliver to write an article for the magazine about teaching the A-Level course.
