Sky-diver Louise presents £1,500 to charity

Sixth-Form student Louise Bavin has presented a cheque for more than £1,500 to the Teenage Cancer Trust following her charity skydive from 15,000 feet.

Louise, who is afraid of heights, performed the tandem jump from Hibaldstow Airfield in January to raise money for a cause she describes as "very close to her heart".

The Year 12 student paid for all the costs of the jump herself so every penny raised could go to the Trust.

Now, at a special year-group assembly, she has handed a cheque for £1,501-18 to the Trust's East Midlands Regional Fundraiser Donna Young (pictured right).

"This was an exceptional achievement by Louise," said Ms Young. "We are extremely grateful for everything she has done."

Louise's fellow Priory student Zack Hagan, then in Year 10,  died in April 2011 at the age of 15.

Members of Zack's family were invited to the Year 12 assembly, which also included a presentation by the Trust about its work.
